Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my Nana's in Tipton, OK. If you've never had a reason to go to Tipton, OK, you've probably never even heard of it. The only stop light is a blinking 4 way stop. My parents are both from there and swear that at one time it was a booming little town. However, nowadays, there's not much to it. It's in the southwest corner of Oklahoma. It's nice to be able to just sit around and relax and visit with family. I made a trip to Alco in Frederick, (a town 15 minutes away that actually has a couple of real stoplights) with my aunt, cousin and my cousin's girlfriend. Other than that, the only place to go is the Hop N' Sac to get a pop. On the way home, we pulled over and let Eli pick some cotton from a field. He thought it was pretty cool. We now have this glob of cotton that we have to figure out something to do with.

My little helper

Eli is such a great helper. Anytime I ask, he comes running. He loves helping with Zoe, though I cannot convince him to change a diaper yet. He will throw them away. He really likes to help me with the laundry. Our washer and dryer are so tall that he can't reach to push the buttons, so he has started bringing his stool from his bathroom. He cracks up when we find something to add to the load in the washer. It's a front loader so there's only so much time to stop and "Add a Garment". For some reason, he finds it hilarious. He will run to each bedroom in the house giggling, looking for something to add before it's too late to stop the cycle.

I hope that he always has such a kind, compassionate spirit. I pray that we can always instill in him the desire to help others willingly and lovingly.

We'll see how this goes

I've never been good at keeping up with any sort of diary or journal, but I have always had good intentions. So, I can't promise that I'll make weekly or even monthly posts, but I'll try.
I have the two most amazing children. Eli is 3 and Zoe is already almost 5 months. Eli is turning into such a little man. He has such a kind heart and great manners. He is growing so fast. Zoe is the most happy baby. She is always smiling and cooing. She loves her brother and keeps her eyes on him if he's anywhere near her. Eli is such a good big brother. He is going to be very protective of her I can already tell, so watch out future boyfriends!

Johnny is such an amazing husband and father. He works so hard so I can stay home with the kids. I am loving being here and getting to do all the "mommy stuff" during the week that I missed out on while I was working. We do story time at the library, ABC Fun Class, play at the park, have lunch with daddy, etc. Most of all, I'm loving getting to spend quality time with them. (I'm not going to lie, taking a nap at 1:00 in the afternoon is also a nice perk :) )

Johnny is a member of the Rotary and has gotten the opportunity to work on several community projects with them. I just recently joined the Rockwall Preschool Association, which meets once a month. They do fundraisers for local organizations associated with children and families. It also gives us opportunities during the week to meet with other moms and kids for play and activities. I seem to be busier now than when I was teaching.
