Christmas Party

We went to our RPA (Rockwall Preschool Assoc.) Christmas party this morning and Eli was actually excited about Santa. I say this because the last time we attempted to get a picture with Santa, you would have thought I was pulling his hair and beating him at the same time. I had never, and have not since, heard him scream like that. He was still crying 10 minutes later when we were out of the building. It was a very unpleasant experience for everyone around us as well. This was after we had stood in line for an hour and a half at the old county courthouse in the stairwell and winding around pews in the courtroom. Then I had to almost take the picture lady down to get my $10 back because she didn't understand why I didn't want to buy her picture of my terrified child clawing to get away from Santa.

Anyway, this year was much better. We ate breakfast, decorated cookies, did some crafts, watched a puppet show and met Santa. Then the kids did a book exchange. It was really cute. They all sat in a big circle and one of the moms read a story. Every time she said Santa, they passed the book they were holding to the right. At the end of the story, they got to keep the book they were holding. Eli got If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. Anyway, it was a good morning and now we are all ready for a nap.
